Riding & Watt is a firm of Professional Land Surveyors specializing in cadastral surveys and the provision of information and plans (digital and hardcopy) on all land matters, using up-to-date technology in the production thereof.
Our clients expect us to provide fast and accurate data. We do this by the integration of our databases with information from the Deeds Offices, the Surveyors-General and the Chief-Director of Surveys & Mapping.

Riding & Watt’s expertise in and extensive knowledge of the surveying business ensures that clients receive the best possible service. Our firm is a continuation of over 100 years land surveying services in our area (Worcester, Tulbagh, Ceres, Prince Alfred’s Hamlet, the Koue Bokkeveld region, the Tanqua Karoo and the Swartland, Saldanha, Cederberg, Bergrivier, Karoo Hoogland and Hantam municipal areas).
Our customers are and have been the Government, local authorities, engineering firms, estate agents, farmers, consultants, the man in the street, in other words, everyone who has a need for land information.
1910 – 1953: Frank Theron Snr and Johnny Andrews provide Ceres with survey services from Worcester, practicing as Theron & Andrews.
1953 – 1960: Frank Theron Jnr opens the Ceres office. Ronald Watt joins in 1959, practicing as Theron, Andrews & Watt.
1960 – 1970: Anton Nel joins the Worcester branch. The firm is renamed Andrews, Watt & Nel.
1979: Claus Riding joins Andrews, Watt & Nel in Worcester.
1983: Claus Riding starts to manage the Ceres office and starts Riding & Watt.
Our offices are situated in the Western Cape town of Ceres, central to our main area of operations and 140km from Cape Town.
The firm is a sole ownership. We consist of one owner, one technical surveyor, one secretary and one labourer.
